An American Coin Through & Through

‘As a favourite coin among collectors, you will rarely find anything more ‘American’ than the American Silver Coin, produced right in the United States. The United States has produced three coins since 1986: bullion (the highest standard of purity), a proof version (early minting stage reproductions) and an uncirculated version, strictly for coin collectors.

Except for the uncirculated variant, every version of coinage has a face value of one dollar and is recognised as a valid form of payment in the United States. But for those who are looking to save their coins rather than spend them, these are fantastic introductory products.

About the American Silver Eagle Coin

Coin collectors across the country and indeed around the world crave the high quality, bespoke nature of precious metals produced by the United States Mint. The “uncirculated” version of these coins were all produced at West Point and thus bear a “W” inscription.

Regarding the popularity levels of the American Silver Eagle, in 2015, the silver coin sold 47.3 million copies throughout the United States. Sales then fell off in the preceding years to only 15 million copies being sold (of bullion) but returned in 2020 with 31.3 million total sales nationally.

Features of the American Silver Eagle Coin

Weighing one Troy ounce, and filled with .999 Silver, the market value of the American Silver Eagle coin is much greater than its value of US$1.00 as legal tender. It should be noted that those from 1995 featuring the “W” marking were valued at US$3,800. Owning one of these will allow you to be part of the extravaganza of owning American Silver Eagles, the world’s most popular coin.

The obverse face of these coins will feature a classic design from Adolph A. Weinmann called “Walking Liberty”, featuring Lady Liberty wandering towards the onlooker of the obverse face. The design has been slightly updated, but much of the original Adolph Weinmann remains true to form. The reverse face of the design features the weight, number of Troy ounces, and purity level as well as the Heraldic Eagle of the United States, created by then-Chief Engraver at the U.S Mint, John Mercanti.

For those with any interest at all in American coinage, old and new, the American Silver Eagle has to make it to your coin collection shelves. Whether you’re fortunate enough to run into one of the higher-valued coins or want to spend a buck to have something to pass on to the grandkids, our 1oz American Silver Eagle is the coin you’ve been looking for. Where is my order sent from?

Depending on your purchase, your order will be sent directly from our warehouse or directly from the mint.

How do I know when my order has been sent?

You’ll receive an email with details, including a tracking link, when we send your order. You can also log into your account to view the order status.

How long will it take for my products to arrive?

Once we receive payment, you’ll be sent an email receipt stating it has been paid for, and your products will be sent out within 1-2 business days. Most payments will have a holding period depending on the payment form. For example, if you pay via check, the holding period for payment clearance can take up to 5 business days. Once your product is shipped, you can expect delivery within 1-3 business days, on average, across the US or Canada. This varies depending on the carrier, time of the year (Christmas post is often slower, for example) and other factors.

Do I need to sign for my package?

If your order is valued at under $1,000, you won’t need to sign for it unless you have chosen this option at checkout. More valuable items will need a signature. If you are not home to accept the delivery, you will receive a notification from the shipping company to make other arrangements.

Does insurance cover my purchase during shipment?

Yes! All packages sent by CanAm Bullion are fully insured so if anything happens enroute to your address, it will be covered provided the Terms and Conditions are met. We will investigate and file a claim if the package is lost or stolen.

What do I do if my package has been tampered with?

Shipping insurance ends the moment you sign for your package, so we recommend you refuse any delivery that looks to have been tampered with. If you refuse the package, it will be sent back to CanAm, and we will follow up. Call our customer service team within 48 hours if your product is damaged.

What happens if my order goes missing during shipment?

All packages that CanAm Bullion sends out are insured, provided they meet certain conditions. If your order gets lost in transit (3 days UPS, 7 days USPS), you need to contact us, and we will start a claim process with the shipping company. The claims process can take 30 days or more. If your package arrives after we start the claims process, you must let us know right away.

What happens if my order is broken during shipment?

CanAm sends all our bullion products in high quality packaging, so breakages are highly unlikely. However, should this occur, contact our team within 48 hours of delivery, and we will start the claims process with the shipping company.

What happens if my order never arrived, but the courier says it was delivered?

Packages that have been dispatched to the correct address and have been delivered will not be eligible for a refund or insurance claim from CanAm Bullion. You assume full risk and liability for the shipment once it has been delivered (either by signing for it or by us leaving it at the specified delivery address). CanAm Bullion MUST be notified of any shipment issues within two calendar days of recorded delivery.

Do you offer shipment worldwide?

We currently offer shipment across Canada and the US. Stay tuned for further destinations coming soon.

Do you ship to US territories?

No. We don’t send packages to US territories.

Do you ship to PO Boxes and UPS Stores?

Yes. We can send items to a P.O. Box. However, keep in mind the insurance coverage ends as soon as the package is marked as delivered. We can also ship to UPS Stores, different mail and packing stores, freight forwarders, and more, however, shipping insurance does not cover items sent here.

How do I choose the best shipping method?

You will be given a few options for shipping, including standard delivery and express delivery (for a small fee). You’ll see these options on checkout, so please choose the option that best suits you.
